She just wants to be friends...?

This girl and I had been dating for about a month and a half and things were going great. We both went home for winter break which lasted about a month. After I got back from break I was really looking forward to furthering our relationship and ask her to be my girlfriend. Well I never exactly got that opportunity. She texted me a few days into the new semester saying that she needs to talk to me about some stuff. I didn't have a good feeling about this. We sat down and talked and towards the end she brought up what was weighing on her mind. She was like, "I really like you, you're a lot of fun to be with, you're sweet and nice but I see us being just friends." I asked why she thought that and she said I don't know. She hinted that it was something she felt inside making her lean towards us being just friends but she never gave me a straightforward answer. It's frustrating being left with more questions than answers. I'm going to need to have a follow up with her because it feels like there's something that she isn't telling me. Do you think it's worth keeping hope for this situation or just move on?
