How to get out of this punishment....?

I think you need to speak to them and tell them that you honestly forgot to text them. But you shouldn't have to get out of your punishment, you should do it because they may not know it but you lied about where you were anyway. I think from now on you should be very honest with your parents, as the punishment could be much worse if they found out about lies as well.
